WHO WE ARE

Amanda Arrington, LMFT, ERYT
(she/her)
After teaching trauma-informed yoga for 16 years, I decided to expand my practice and went back to school, getting licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist from Converse College in South Carolina. My experience as a trauma-informed yoga teacher and the years working as a Marriage and Family Therapist have fused, amplifying my ability to work with clients and help them heal more holistically and efficiently.
There are times when talking is helpful and also times when it is just not enough. I utilize a mind/body/spirit approach to therapy that goes beyond what someone may not have words for. I specialize in areas of trauma, complex trauma, abuse, neglect, anxiety, depression, grief, family/relationship issues, spirituality, and couples issues. A normal session might look like painting, using sand, somatic movement, or building legos alongside traditional talk therapy and EMDR processing.
I’m deeply passionate about helping people feel seen and understood. I believe each of us was made for a great deal more than we often settle for. I work to create an environment in session where you can be yourself without being afraid of judgment or failure. There aren’t many things I love more than watching people’s light bulbs go off and seeing their lives start changing.
A few facts about me: I loathe all condiments–ketchup, mustard, mayo, ranch- you name it- gross. I love being in nature, painting, spending time with my family, and once pogo-ed a mile on my pogo stick, while wearing an inflatable dinosaur costume.

Sugar
(she/her)
Sugar is our furry office life coach. She loves ripping apart a good toy, scratches behind the ears and is most likely to sleep through most of your session.
